This report provides information about the processes that the Food and Nutrition Service uses to disburse Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits using the EBT system, as well as the related oversight activities.

As part of the Office of Inspector General’s (OIG) oversight responsibility, we reviewed the results of prior OIG engagements that were relevant to the funded trade programs. We identified areas with reported past weaknesses and recommendations that may provide the Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) insight when disbursing funds under these programs.

The Office of Inspector General completed a final action verification of all 143 recommendations in 12 audit reports on the Food and Nutrition Service’s Summer Food Service Program. 

OIG determined whether the Forest Service had controls for selecting, funding, tracking, and implementing infrastructure funding to mitigate environmental hazards on Federal land.

OIG reviewed whether the Forest Service converted seasonal wildland firefighters to full-time permanent Federal employees and accurately implemented salary increases for Federal wildland firefighters according to the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.

OIG determined whether the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights processed final agency decisions and final agency orders for Rural Development’s formal EEO civil rights complaints filed in FY 2022 in a timely manner.

We identified areas with reported past weaknesses and recommendations that may provide Rural Development (RD) insight when disbursing funds allotted by the Act.

We identified areas with reported past weaknesses and recommendations that may provide the Agricultural Research Service's (ARS) insight when disbursing funds allotted by the Act.

We identified areas with reported past weaknesses and recommendations that may provide the Forest Service (FS) insight when disbursing funds allotted by the Act.

We identified areas with reported past weaknesses and recommendations that may provide Farm Production and Conservation (FPAC) agencies insight when disbursing funds allotted by the Act.
