The objective of our ongoing inspection is to evaluate FNS’ oversight of TEFAP—this report provides the interim results on what criteria FNS used to approve States for food and administrative funds provided under the FFCR and CARES Acts.

We assessed the adequacy of FS’ policies and procedures to ensure duties and responsibilities of personnel are adequately segregated from initiating, approving, or executing reimbursable agreements or CSAs.

We determined how RBCS implemented the B&I CARES Act Guaranteed Loan Program and made modifications to help guaranteed lenders with existing borrowers experiencing cash flow issues.

We determined if FS had the proper authority and followed Federal laws and regulations when awarding a $2 million grant to the State of Alaska.

OIG determined how USDA research agencies fulfilled the USDA mission to produce scientific research products during fiscal years 2017–2019.

OIG reviewed USDA’s CoE initiative to determine if its functional areas were effective and sustainable and whether USDA complied with applicable laws and regulations.

OIG reviewed USDA’s rural housing programs to determine potential areas of overlap, duplication, and fragmentation.
